This suggestion could just be an average first date, but for me it was the best! We had been talking for a while online…we met through an internet website…go figure! Anyway, our schedules were so busy and difficult to get together, we met one night at a beach. A beach at night time can be very romantic (of course you would have to feel safe use your gut instinct) He brought some delicous wine and snack and we walked the beach. It was a beautiful night. We talked about everything and anything, it was very pressure free and when there were breaks in conversation you could busy yourself with looking at shells or the bubbles that come up from the crabs.
At one point, while we were walking we noticed the the water had little tiny dots all through it that were glowing (fluorescent). It was beautiful and since we were walking in the water, we had it all over us and were glowing too. It was a very pretty moment. Of course being the romantic that I am I saw it as a sign but after a deeper look it was a natural occurance of phosphorus but…I liked my interpretation better.
We ended the night sitting at the lifeguard perch, finishing up the bottle of wine, and exhausted all topics of conversation. I will leave out the part about peeing on the beach, though that was hilarious too. The good night kiss was the sweetest ever. Definitely goes down in my books as the best date ever! So I guess the point is, it doesn’t really matter exactly what you do, if the connection is there…it is there and no matter what you do it will be great!

I had the best first date ever and ended up marrying him! He took me on a hot air balloon ride, it was so romantic. We drank champagne and talked for hours! We’re still happily married 18 years later!
