GirlsAskGuys and charity: water, plus a few new additions!

GirlsAskGuys is once again making some exciting changes to the site, including an Xper option to donate to charity: water, Meebo Checkin, and Site News.

A few months ago, GirlsAskGuys member A_Guy suggested adding a charity donation as an option to redeem Xper Points.

We thought this was a great idea, and have partnered with charity: water to make this happen! charity: water is a non-profit organization bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations.

For 3000 Xper points, GirlsAskGuys will make a donation to charity: water in the amount of $15, noting your user name. For 6000 Xper points, GirlsAskGuys will make a donation to charity: water in the amount of $30, noting your user name. These dollars will go towards building freshwater wells, rainwater catchments and sand filters to people around the world who don’t have access to clean water.

We are absolutely thrilled to offer this option to our members, and would like to thank A_Guy for this terrific suggestion!

Meebo Checkins and Xper Points

Members will now be able to “check in” to GAG using the Meebo bar! Soon you will see this checkin button on the Meebo bar on the right.

This will allow your friends on Meebo and Facebook to know that you checked in to GAG. We will award 10 xper points for each check in, and you can check in every day.

Become a VIP member! If you check in at least 3 times in 7 consecutive days, you will become a VIP. VIP users earn 15 xper points for each checkin instead of 10, and in the future, we will have additional benefits for VIP users. To maintain your VIP status, you must check in at least once a week.

Site News

There is a new button on the Meebo bar – “Site News.” This is available to see whether you are logged in or not logged in. It will highlight when there is a new addition to the site! That way, you can stay updated as to what’s happening on GirlsAskGuys!
