Road Trip Update

On the third day of the road trip, we finally have some time to sit down and do some work. It was a blast in Memphis and Little Rock the first night. The world famous Beale Street and downtown Little Rock surely knows how to party. We then got back on the road driving all morning and arriving in Dallas at 7AM. After a Texas style breakfast and visiting a couple of museums we headed over to Fort Worth to visit the Stock Yards. We learned how to saddle a horse and catch live stock (in theory). In the afternoon we got back on the road again to head over to Austin. After settling in our rooms and a dinner, we headed out to the 6th street. The night life here is nothing short of spectacular but after a few hours of bar hopping we called it a night. And now, we are catching up with some of the chores and will shortly be out to tour the city. We will be heading to San Antonio tomorrow and then onto Phoenix and will keep you posted on the blog. Over and out.

GirlsAskGuys is on the Road

Two members of the GirlsAskGuys Team is getting on the road for a well deserved time off. There is a general outline for the route but most of the trip is still unplanned and lots of room left for spontaneity. It will be a trip to remember as far as the duo is concerned and that’s all it matters. The duo: Tolga and Onur.

We will get on the road today (did I mention Spontaneous) and the route is as follows; Memphis, Little Rock, Dallas, Waco, Austin, San Antonio, El Paso, Tucson, Phoenix, San Diego, Los Angeles and Las Vegas. We would love to meet with members of GirlsAskGuys for early morning coffee or for cold beer and just hang out and exchange ideas. Any tips for the route is also welcome. Tell us where to go, what to visit, what to eat and more importantly what to stay away from.

Send us an email and let us know where and we will meet you : )

Connection Agent – Be the Matchmaker

We created a new application for Facebook, called Connection Agent. Even though this application is not closely related to what GirlsAskGuys offers, I think it offers a unique way of meeting people through your friends. Like Lifeson, one of our users, pointed out, “There’s still a human element to the match”.

How does it work? When you see this application on a friend’s profile, you can click on the Introduce Me links for any person. That will send a request to your friend, asking him/her to introduce you to that person. If your friend approves, then the request is forwarded to this person you want to meet. If he/she approves as well then you have the chance to become friends on facebook. There are various filters(relationship status, gender, Top 16) you can use to find people from your friend’s friend list.

On the other hand, your friends may do just what I mentioned above. If they want to meet a friend of yours, a request will come to you as soon as they click on “Introduce Me” link for one of your friends on your profile. Accepting or denying is up to you. In either case you can enter a note. If you deny, you can explain why you don’t want to introduce and this note will be sent to the person who made the request. The other friend won’t be bothered by this request since you denied it. If you approve, the note you enter will be sent to both of you friends and request will wait approval from the person who your other friend wants to meet with.

You can also select Top 16. You select 16 friends that you want to show up on the first page of the application.  This selection is up to you and it can be your best friends and/or friends that are more open to meeting new people.

By meeting people through your friends, just like in real life, you are also avoiding weirdos that you don’t want to connect with. After all, your friends know your likes and dislikes better than a computer. Bottomline, the matchmaker is you and your friends(a human). It’s absolutely the best and safest way to meet new people for professional or personal reasons.

You can see the application and install it here. Let us know if you see any problems or just let us know what you think. We love to hear feedback from people who are actually using what we build
